Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This policy describes how the current version of PureSets handles data. The full policy is bundled with the app and can be read offline.

1. Local storage

PureSets stores workout sessions, dates and durations, exercises, sets, weights, repetitions, routines and notes in a local Room database in the app’s private storage. Personal records and workout summaries are calculated from those records. Timer state and settings are also saved locally so the app can restore or check a rest timer. These records are used to provide your workout log and timer.

2. Body measurements and photos

Body records contain dates, optional body weight, waist, hips, chest, biceps, forearm, thigh and calf measurements, notes and front, side and back photos. Measurements and unit preferences are saved locally. Selected or captured photos are copied into private app storage, resized and re-encoded without location metadata. You can edit or delete records and remove individual photos. Photos are not uploaded or shared automatically. The system photo picker grants access to the selected image; an external camera app can take a photo using a temporary file. Those services follow their own privacy settings. Uninstalling or clearing app storage removes these records and photos; PureSets has no export or cloud backup.

3. Network, accounts and sharing

PureSets uses INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE for Google Play Billing and its technical diagnostics. The Billing SDK can send Google information about API success, failures, service connections and technical app/device details, including when Billing initializes without a purchase. Google handles this information under its own policies. PureSets does not send workouts, timer records, measurements or photos to a server. It has no app accounts, remote workout synchronization, advertising or custom user-behaviour analytics.

4. Optional timer permissions

POST_NOTIFICATIONS allows optional rest timer notifications. On Android 13 and later, you choose whether to grant notification permission. Notifications can appear on your lock screen according to your Android settings.

SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM is optional special access, managed in Android settings where required, for more precise background rest timer alerts. Delivery depends on the permissions you grant and Android’s background restrictions. If notification permission or exact alarm access is denied, the workout log and timer in the app remain usable; background reminders may be unavailable or delayed.

VIBRATE is used for the timer’s vibration alert and does not require a separate permission prompt. RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED lets the app check locally saved timer state and clear stale reminders after a device restart; it also has no runtime permission prompt. You can manage notification permission and exact alarm access in Android settings.

5. Retention and deletion

Local records remain until you delete them using available app controls or remove the app’s stored data. To remove all local workout data and timer preferences, open Android Settings → Apps → PureSets → Storage → Clear storage, or uninstall PureSets. Setting names vary by device. There is no server account or server copy for the developer to delete or restore.

Records are kept in Android’s app sandbox. PureSets sets allowBackup=false and does not provide its own cloud backup.

6. Payments

Optional developer support uses Google Play Billing for one-time contributions. Google Play processes payment and provides product IDs, purchase status and tokens needed to complete purchases. PureSets sends purchase and consumption requests to Google Play. It stores only token hashes and processing/completion markers in private local storage to prevent duplicate processing. Raw tokens, payment card and bank details are not stored by PureSets. Workouts, measurements and photos are not included in these requests. Google handles transactions under its own terms and privacy policy. Google Play manages order history and refunds; clearing PureSets storage does not delete that history. Contributions are optional and do not unlock features.

7. Policy changes

If data handling changes in a future release, the policy will be updated with that release. The date above identifies this policy version.
